Just keep changing the tileset in a parallel (of course, you'd have to have multiple of the same tileset, with each tile changing in each, depending on which are going to animate) and you can make anything animate! Screw that limited 3 framed water tile. Jokes aside just pick whatever you have access to and do your best, your hard work and care for a project is sure to show no matter what maker you - I agree with you 100% 2k3 is obviously the best of them all. ![]() So which maker is "best"? If you're a horrible developer with no imagination I'd say none, as a matter of fact delete rmn from your bookmarks and never come back. Hell you can make the greatest game simply out text if you're good enough, you just need to expand on your ideas and implement them to the best of your ability with an added spice of creativity. Anyways back to topic, every maker only has limitations when lack of creativity and imagination are involved. Just felt like throwing a few examples out there. I've yet to see an rpg that looks really diverse from the look of XP/VX made in XP/VX. Additionally, though I haven't used XP or VX before, it looks like people who aim for custom menus and battle systems always ended up with something still tainted by the feel of the default systems, and it seems a lot easier to make something completely new and separate from the default systems in rm2k3. You can ofcourse ask others to help guide your choice if you haven't picked one, but don't work with one people tell you to just because they say its "better".Īuthor=Vanit The main gripe I have with XP/VX though is that its very hard not to make Generic RPG #5023, like how all the XP/VX games seem to look to me. But to mirror what others have said, I urge you to use the engine you prefer. The main gripe I have with XP/VX though is that its very hard not to make Generic RPG #5023, like how all the XP/VX games seem to look to me. I find that rm2k3 is more appropriate if you want your game to feel authentic and original, it also operates at half the resolution of XP/VX so its much easier to create graphics for as well (you can do this in XP/VX if you make the graphics twice as big too). ![]() If you're making an rpg, on all accounts I say rm2k3 wins hands down.
